Description
The term Palace, in this case, is subjective. Khan Akril's head quarters is a converted warehouse that includes both his own opulent home and the training grounds for his gang. The ground floor and yard of this complex double as an illegal casino and a venue for bare fist and boxing events. Day or night the fenced-in yard is host to gathered Tongs and the supernatural parasites that hide among the Oriental underworld.
Atmosphere
Akril has united much of the Oriental underworld under his banner, including many of the supernaturals whose human halves share the same cultural heritage. His Palace is guarded by his most trusted Tong's and staffed by dozens of Courtesans and Geisha, and creatures such as Kuei-jin Akuma and the Shapeshifting children of Centipede often benefit from his hospitality. Approaching the Palace involves walking the gamut of thugs and gangsters that hang around in the courtyard or who carry out the loading and unloading of illicit goods.
For the servants of Khan Akril, life is precarious and at times frightening, due to his legendary temper. Unsuccessful raids, loss of face or simply getting out of his sumptuous bed on the wrong side are enough to send Akril into a murderous frenzy in which random members of his organisation are killed in incredibly imaginative ways in order to alleviate his fury. This edgy sense of impending violence colours the mood of the entire complex and everyone from the lowliest whore to the commanders of his personal guard walk on eggshells in case or inflaming their masters Ire.
