The Setting of the Batman stories was as much a source of inspiration as the Film Noir movies of the past. In creating the Dark city of Gotham, I went back to the same sources the great Bob Kane himself used. New York once went under the name of Gotham and its obvious that the Fictional Gotham is as based on New York as Metropolis is based on Washington DC. The Batman movies of Tim Burton and Warner's animated TV series all added to this. They allowed me to use a well known city with its own dark mood without having to do a lot of research into a real world place.
WHITE WOLF GAMES
Obviously the developers of the original World of Darkness should get a lot of the Kudos for this game and I won't hold back in giving them the Credit. I started Role-playing in 1980 and have never stopped since. However when I got my hands on the First edition of Vampire: the Masquerade back in 1990 a fire was lit under my butt. It matched the mood and feel of the games I had always run and I was hooked. Since then I have concentrated only on this setting, giving the hundreds of other games and books to those friends who could use them.
That said, Sodium Noir has many non Canon elements and tweaks to suit both my style of Storytelling and the PbEM medium as a whole. None of this is meant to be a challenge to the boys n girls at white wolf, just us as players embracing the Famous First rule.

Project Khaos uses the unmatched and peerless skills of this company in its web based products. My technical ineptitude is legendary, and without the skills of this company Sodium Noir would have been little more than a collection of unidentified bones in an underpass.
IMAGES USED WITHOUT PERMISSION:
A whole bunch of artists whose stuff I chored: I'm afraid I spent a few years stealing pictures off the net for personal use as I have always been a very visual Storyteller. Thus when I began this little venture I did not have the details of where I had acquired pictures. None of this is meant to be a challenge to the artists and web masters from whom I have ripped off and without much real world knowledge of how this stuff works I may have offended some people. All I can do is to state that the pictures I have used is meant to be a complement. I see a picture and it speaks to me, whole Characters leap from my furtive imagination from a single image and the Awen strikes. Please forgive my muse and me. If you see an Image on this site that I have used and is yours please contact me. I will of course take it down if you so wish, but would prefer to come to a better arrangement. Linking to your site, crediting you and maybe even sharing skills. Maybe finding you commissions among the many groups of Roleplayers I am involved with or some of the external organisations.
ADULT CONTENT
I put a warning on the front page about adult content for good reason. Now this site does not contain pictures of an adult nature or images of naked men and women. It does however contain swearing and written descriptions or Murder, Rape, Drug taking and of a sexualy explicit nature. The world of darkness thrives on this. If you choose to include a sexual theme in your stories, that is up to you. You wont be slapped on the wrist from me. use your discretion and make it fit. Femme fatal's use sex as a weapon, Lovers use it to extent thier emotional bond. brutes use rape as a form of domination. Tell as much or as little as you like.
The mood of the story is dark and gritty and I have no wish to detract from that with censorship. I do however feel the need to provide my audience with fair warning. If you feel you will be offended by the adult content of this site and the posts that it will generate, please do not join.
