Devlin De'Bouvier

Race Vampire
Splat Ventrue
Title Favoured Childe of the Prince

Physical Description
Classically pretty rather than beautiful, Devlin has dark hair and the remains of a once olive complexion. Her looks do however benefit from the lack of make up and even the simplest fashions suit her demeanour. Unless dressing specifically for an event such as the opera or dinner, Devlin prefers woollen suits or functional outfits in dark colours.

Personality
Devlin is softly spoken and cultured, while not shy, she isn't as forth coming as her sire. In dealing with matters of state she is capable and succinct, coaxing a great deal of information from a limited degree of conversation. When Montoya entertains guests she is his 'wife' and his Major domo, while in the boardroom she is his right hand. Devlin is ecstatically happy in Montoya's shadow, she has found her prince and all she wants is to ensure he continues to reign with her as his Princess.

Story
Devlin was always far too intelligent to fit in, she alienated her friends. Her father's money would have secured her almost any man she wanted, but Devlin had grown up listening to her Aunt Marguerite, and she believed in Prince Charming. Marguerite tried to help her, she secured willing and experience young men to be her piano teacher, her riding coach and her tennis instructor, but none of them managed to last. Devlin wanted the real thing and when she found it, Lady Marguerite had no control over the situation.

Devlin met Sebastian Montoya at one of her fathers parties, and she was smitten. The Spaniard was cultured, charming and completely disrespectful to all the other guests. He seemed disinterested in the huge dowry that Devlin carried round her neck like an albatross and what's more he spoke politely to aunt Marguerite. For Montoya, the debutant held a strange fascination. What began as a mild flirtation became a strong friendship. Devlin was pretty, her conversation was far from boring and she had been raised to command others. Chess, debate, finance, History, art, opera and literature, they spent every night talking until the sky lightened and within a month Montoya had decided to embrace her.

Since becoming a member of Clan Ventrue Devlin has excelled at all the requisite skills of statesmanship and command. She rules at her Sires side and her grasp of the miniature and detail required in governing the city have made her indispensable to the Prince and his council. Visitors to the Princes haven find her skills as a hostess unforgettable and since she arrived on the scene Montoya is far less likely to forget promises he had made or appointments made. Devlin's greatest skill is not just her multitasking, it is in how much she can get away with controlling Montoya.
