Physical Description
Jack's Flesh is marked with a multitude of occult symbols with no apparent common theme. Mostly his arms, but other parts too, bare enigmatic sigils that seem to be carved right into the flesh itself. Others look to be Tattooes or oddly symmetrical scar tissues and blemishes.
5’ 11” tall, light brown hair, pale blue eyes (bordering on grey), slim build, but well-muscled.
Personality
Though he appears to be in his mid-30’s, Jack’s personality seems strangely undeveloped. He has a child’s enthusiasm and curiosity, mixed with a oddly dark opinion of the world. In his brief human existence, he’s known only the nightmares Khan Akril has shown him. Love is unknown, cruelty is everywhere, physical contact results in pain, and failure or a mistake is rewarded with punishment. Despite the horrific version of human life he’s been given, Jack is hopeful that he’ll find the world outside Akril’s domain to be a much better place.
Story
Whatever he was - and still is - before Khan Akril forcibly melded his spirit form into a human body, Jack doesn’t remember. His life, as far as he knows it, began three years ago, when Akril performed a ritual to permanently bind spirit with flesh. Jack believes he was a prototype - a precursor of something far more powerful, but an entity the Khan wasn’t certain he could control. The experiment having succeeded, Akril soon lost interest in Jack, who was kept around not only as an example of the Khan’s magical prowess, but as a slave. Jack did whatever he was told. Menial tasks for the most part - driver, spy, errand boy. Mostly, he was forgotten.
But he saw a great deal - cruel, depraved, barbaric acts inflicted both on Akril’s victims and on those who failed to serve him in the manner he demanded. To his mind, and having no example of contrary behavior, Jack believed that this was what it meant to be human. He knew his true self was something much different - mystical in nature, but helpless in its new form. Determined to regain what had been taken from him, Jack occupied his time studying the texts in Akril’s library, and it was there he discovered the potential means for independence. He failed at nearly every type of magic he attempted - save one. Ironically, the method that worked was the one thing which linked his two selves - blood. Jack meticulously carved symbols of power into his own flesh, each one selected for a particular purpose. Unfortunately, on the night his work was almost finished, the Khan sent him out to spy at the Iblis warehouse. It was on this same night that Titus Bane killed Khan Akril.
The spiritual link between slave and master now severed, Jack found himself adrift, not knowing where to go or who to turn to. He found temporary refuge in one of Khan’s many sanctuaries and there, completed the magical sigils. When infection and subsequent fever set in and he found himself not far from death's door, Jack found yet another refuge, this time at the Temple of the Five Dragons... and in a trio of equally magical and intriguing saviors.
