Physical Description
Middle aged and very conservative, the Doctor prefers simple seersucker suits and a white lab coat to anything ostentatious. He has never been seen in anything approaching casual wear. His hair is kept neat and tidy and his bifocal glasses small and round. Slender and well groomed, Dr Burton has a Victorian air about him.

Personality
A meticulous man with exacting needs, Burton is particular about details. He takes long moments to consider every word and speaks in a clear way. He has a calm and reasonable bed side manner and a fatherly demeanour.

Story
Dr Burton took over Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane 11 years ago and five years ago he closed it down for a huge refurbishment. His treatment of the mentally ill is internationally recognised and praised. Since taking the helm of the institute, Dr Burton has implemented several forward thinking therapies. His greatest successes coming from among the schizophrenic patients who are allowed to express their neurosis through various artistic media.
Before that, his actions are unknown.
