Acolytes of the Tremere Chantry

James Giger

Giger
Race Vampire
Splat Tremere
Title Apprentice of the 4th Circle

Physical Description
Giger looks to be in his late 30's or early 40's.  His dark brown hair is cut short and close to his head, and the streaks of grey in his temple and sideburns tends to make him more distinguished looking.  He generally dresses pretty well, favoring the formality of a suit to polo shirts and khakis.  He wears his glasses for driving, mainly because his license says that he does.

Personality
He generally comes off as a bit of a bookish librarian, often concerned more with the cataloging and acquistion of occult tomes than maintaining good relations with his clanmates.  However, he loves a good story, and is known to keep the company of interesting mortals to learn their stories.  Perhaps he should have been a biographer.

Story
James Giger's unlife began in New York City in the 1920's.   He was a librarian for the New York City Public Library, in charge of its Rare Books section.   While he was an avid reader and book collector, his favorite subject was the myriad aspects that comprised the umbrella of Occult Studies, and he was regarded as one of the local experts in the field.   He was especially gifted at the identification and acquistion of books, and under his watch, the library was able to increase its rare book holdings by 35%.  It was this ability that came to the attention of Clan Tremere.

Making use of his love of the occult, Giger was invited to join the Order of the Pyramid, an occult order that served as a testing ground for potential candidates for House and Clan Tremere.   Giger rose quickly through its ranks, and saw his last sunset in 1923, on the auspicious date of Samhain.

Since then, Giger has devoted his unlife to much the same task as his mortal one; namely the acquistion, cataloging and preservation of Chantry libraries.   This undertaking has taken him across the globe: London, Cairo, San Francisco, Atlanta, Salem, Baltimore and now Gotham.   It is his fondest hope that one day he can undertake the mammoth task of organizing the great library in Vienna, which has been favorably compared to the great Library of Alexandria.

But time and time have proven unkind to Giger.  The slings and arrows of various Regents have caused him to rise and fall in rank in the Pyramid hierarchy.   As far as he can figure, Giger believes that he should have been initiated as a Regent of the First Circle and assigned a small Chantry of his own by now.  For the moment, he contents himself with his work and his senority at the Gotham Chantry as a mere Apprentice of the Fourth Circle.

Elizabeth Greenville

Elizabeth
Race Vampire
Splat Tremere
Title Apprentice of the 3rd Circle

Physical Description
Eyes of golden brown, and hair of reddish gold.   She looks enough like England's greatest queen, Elizabeth the First that she could be cast to play the monarch in a movie, or at one of the many Renaissance Faires held in the summer, assuming of course that their hours were compatible with her own nocturnal ones.  She favors archaic styles of dress, including Victorian and Bohemian, but always wears an ornate gold ankh with a ruby in the center.

Personality
Elizabeth is perhaps one of the meekest and least ambitious Tremere you could ever meet.  She seems content with whatever place and rank is given to her, with little complaint.  Her speech is strangely accented, such that even a Brit cannot place it.

Story
"On Elizabeth Greenville, the normally impeccable records of House and Clan Tremere are quite...lacking.  She hails from England, Canterbury to be exact.  I know that she is the Childe of Lord Thomas Raleigh, Regent of Canterbury, now deceased.  His lineage, and therefore Elizabeth's, can be traced back to Goratrix, the great betrayer.  Thankfully both she and her Sire are free of such taint; many of the line are not.

The lady herself stated that her Embrace occured in 1554, which should number her among the Elders of our kind.  The letter from Lord Henry Waters, Regent of London, hints that the lady had been held in the grips of Torpor for a very long time, and only recently awakened.  She was an Apprentice of the London Chantry prior to her transfer to Gotham.  She has made mention of a Ventrue that attempted to summon her back to England shortly after her arrival in the states.  I speculate that is the reason why she was transferred to Gotham."
