"Well first of all they're not my Faerie. They very defiantly belong to themselves, and would not take at all kindly to the idea that they belong to a human. They don't exactly hold us in high regard. Except sometimes as pets. Secondly, they're not at all what you'd expect. They're an old people, savage and majestic. They are also proud, arrogant, and downright vicious. They delight in duels, vendettas and general slaughter, and most of the time no one within shouting distance of their senses should have anything to do with them. However, since I am also proud, arrogant and dangerous to know, we've always got on like a house on fire. People have mostly forgotten the old stories and legends that gave birth to the Faerie. Down the years people have censored and prettified and generally Disneyfied the hell out of them. Those versions are here too. In fact, there are areas where you can't move for the precious little fluttering things. They are not areas I care to frequent, especially when I'm sober. The Faerie are the real thing; old, brutal and desperately honourable. They keep to themselves, mostly, and everybody else is very happy to leave it that way."

As well as being a friend to the nobles and the lowborn, Peri has a respected insight into the political organisations and groups that vie for power or survival in London. Here are detailed the major players in London's Civil war as well as a Host of Redcap gangs and a treaties on the Hob Goblins.

London
London, the City of Gates is a fascinating collection of myth and History. As a setting for the supernatural it is unmatched anywhere in the world. Mexico still ranks as the murder capitol of the world while New Orleans attracts the modern Gothic authors to set their Vampire novels in her heart and Edinburgh is currently the loudest of the thousand and one cities claiming to be the most haunted in the world, but only London can boasts such a wealth of supernatural denizens and mysteries. I would be lying if I denied the fact that most of my inspiration for setting my Changeling Chronicle in London was Neil Gaimen's NEVERWHERE series. All Hail the Father of Changeling: the Dreaming and may J. K. Rowling rot in hell.

The fairy cat's of the British Isles may have made alliances with a certain breed of Bastet but in truth the Ceilican are not Fae and the Cait-Sith owe no allegiance to Gaia.
